BCA Finance
I worked on the redesign of BCA Finance’s mobile application, bringing customer financing services and showroom operations into a single role-based experience.

Project Overview
Bringing financing services into one mobile experience
BCA Finance provides vehicle financing services for both individual customers and showroom partners.
The project focused on redesigning its mobile application to support these different needs within a single product. Customers needed a simple way to explore financing options and manage their existing credit, while showroom and sales users needed tools to support their daily financing operations.
The application used account-based roles to determine which features and information were available to each user.
My Role
Working as the sole designer
I worked as the sole UI/UX Designer on the project alongside a Business Analyst, Project Manager, and development team.
The Business Analyst defined most of the functional and business requirements. My responsibility was to translate those requirements into clear user flows and interface solutions.
My work included:
- Translating business requirements into user flows and interfaces
- Providing UX recommendations when a requirement could be simplified or improved
- Exploring multiple design approaches before aligning on a solution
- Designing the mobile experience across customer and showroom roles
- Collaborating with the Business Analyst and developers throughout implementation
- Presenting design progress and product demos to stakeholders
The Challenge
One application, different user needs
The main challenge was designing a single application for users with very different goals.
Customers mainly needed quick access to their personal financing journey — from exploring credit options to checking their active loans.
Showroom and sales users, on the other hand, needed more operational tools to manage financing activities, monitor performance, and handle submissions.
Instead of treating every user the same, the experience needed to adapt based on their role while still feeling like one consistent BCA Finance product.

Understanding the Users
Two sides of the financing journey
During the early pitching stage, I helped define the main personas to create a clearer picture of who we were designing for.
As the project moved into execution, the design process was mainly driven by business and functional requirements provided by the Business Analyst.
Customer
For customers, the experience focused on making vehicle financing information and services easier to access.
Key areas included:
Credit Simulation
Explore possible financing plans and estimated installments.
Application Status
Follow the progress of an ongoing credit application.
Active Credit
Access information related to existing financing.
Vehicle Catalog
Browse available vehicles and financing-related information.
E-Contract
Access financing contract information digitally.
Loyalty
View benefits and loyalty-related services.
Showroom & Sales Experience
Supporting financing operations on the go
Showroom and sales users required a different set of tools to support their daily activities.
The role-based experience gave them access to operational features such as:
Sales Performance
Monitor individual or showroom sales performance.
Incentives
View incentive-related information and progress.
Financing Submission
Support financing applications directly from the mobile application.
Fund Disbursement
Access information related to the financing disbursement process.
SHF Submission
Create larger financing submissions, with predefined amounts starting around IDR 500 million up to IDR 5 billion, while still allowing custom values when needed.
These capabilities made the application more than a customer-facing financing app - it also became a working tool for the showroom side of the business.

Design Approach
From business requirements to usable flows
This project was not driven by extensive user research. Most assignments started from functional requirements defined together with the Business Analyst.
My role was to turn those requirements into an experience that made sense for the people using the product.
The process usually followed a simple loop:
Business Requirement → User Flow → Design Exploration → Team Review → Final UI → Development
When requirements were complex, I explored different flows or interface options and discussed the trade-offs with the team before moving forward.
This allowed me to contribute beyond visual execution and help shape how each feature would actually work.

Role-Based Experience
Showing the right tools to the right users
One important part of the solution was keeping both customer and showroom functionality inside one application without exposing every feature to everyone.
The system identified the user's role through their registered account and adjusted the available features accordingly.
This helped keep the experience relevant:
Customer account
Focused on personal financing, applications, active credit, vehicles, and loyalty.
Showroom / Sales account
Focused more heavily on sales performance, incentives, submissions, and financing operations.
The product could therefore support different workflows while maintaining a consistent navigation and visual language.
Design Solution
Making a complex financing product easier to navigate
The final design organized a wide range of financing services into a more structured mobile experience.
Rather than treating the application as one large collection of features, the interface prioritized functions based on the user's role and context.
Across the product, I focused on:
- Clear access to frequently used services
- Consistent interaction patterns across different modules
- Easy-to-scan information on the dashboard
- Simple navigation between financing services
- Clear status and financial information
- A consistent experience between customer and showroom functionality
The goal was not only to modernize the interface, but also to make a complex financial product easier to understand and operate from a mobile device.
Outcome
From concept to development
The project progressed through the design and development handoff stage, with the proposed flows and interfaces reviewed together with the internal team and stakeholders.
I worked closely with the development team during implementation to clarify interactions, requirements, and design decisions.
The final production release happened outside my involvement, so I don't claim any post-launch metrics or product outcomes.
Reflection
What I learned
Working as the sole designer on BCA Finance gave me experience balancing business requirements, technical considerations, and very different user needs within one product.
It also strengthened an important part of my design process that I still use today: requirements should not simply be translated into screens.
A designer still needs to question how a feature should work, explore alternatives, and help the team find a clearer experience before moving into implementation.
