Driev is an innovative on-demand service app designed to revolutionize the way car repair and vehicle rental services are accessed and delivered. By creating a seamless ecosystem that caters to the needs of both users and merchants, Driev allows users to book car repairs, schedule vehicle rentals, and enjoy a hassle-free experience, all from the convenience of their mobile devices. The target audience includes busy professionals, business people, and individuals who prefer the convenience of booking mechanic request to visit their places over visiting a car repair shop.
My Role
As a designer involved from the early stages of the project, my responsibilities included:
Gathering and translating high-level business concepts into practical design functions and features.
Collaborating closely with the product owner to ensure that the design aligned with the strategic goals of the business.
Participating in weekly checkpoints to provide updates on design progress and to incorporate feedback.
Challenges
Lack of Proper Documentation: The project faced significant challenges due to the absence of detailed documentation. The client provided only a high-level business deck, which required me to interpret and flesh out the details into actionable design elements.
Defining the User Experience: With no existing framework to work from, I had to define the user experience from scratch, ensuring it was intuitive and catered to the needs of the target audience—busy individuals who prioritize convenience.
Design Process
Information Gathering and Translation: I worked to gather as much information as possible from the high-level business deck provided by the client. This involved extensive discussions with the product owner to clarify goals and requirements, which I then translated into functional design features.
Iterative Design and Feedback: Throughout the design process, I maintained close collaboration with the product owner, using weekly checkpoints to review progress and make necessary adjustments. This iterative approach ensured that the design evolved in alignment with the business objectives.
Early User Feedback: In the early stages of development, we partnered with Starbeng (aerotrans.co.id) to gather feedback during testing and implementation. This partnership provided valuable insights that helped refine the design and improve the user experience.
Solution
Seamless User Interface: The final design featured a seamless and intuitive user interface that allowed users to easily book car repairs, schedule rentals, and manage their services. The design focused on convenience and ease of use, catering specifically to the needs of the target audience.
Functional Ecosystem: The app successfully created a functional ecosystem that connected users with car repair services and rental vehicles through a partnership model. This ecosystem allowed for a smooth and efficient service delivery process.
