Project Overview

Less Busy is a Chrome extension that acts as an AI-powered LinkedIn networking coach, built for people who want to grow professional relationships efficiently. It replaces the chaotic LinkedIn feed with a focused task list — taking only 5–10 minutes a day — and uses three AI coaches (Comment, Repost, Connect) to guide every action. It's especially powerful for tapping into the hidden job market, since 85% of jobs come through referrals rather than public postings. Currently in free beta, it's desktop/Chrome-only, requires no LinkedIn password, and never auto-posts anything on your behalf.

My Role

As a product designer, I was responsible for bridging business strategy and user experience throughout the project:

  • Translated high-level business ideas into well-defined design functions and features.
  • Collaborated closely with the founder to ensure every design decision aligned with the product's business goals.
  • Participated in daily check-ins to provide progress updates and maintain alignment across the team.
  • Owned the end-to-end design process, covering the Chrome extension UI, visual identity assets, and the marketing landing page.

Challenges

  • No formal documentation existed at the start of the project — requirements were gathered entirely through meeting discussions.
  • Translating verbal, unstructured insights into actionable design specifications.
  • Maintaining design consistency in a fast-paced environment with frequent concept revisions.
  • Adapting to scope changes mid-design phase while keeping momentum and quality intact.

Design Process

  • Gathered requirements through daily stakeholder meetings and discussion sessions.
  • Synthesized meeting notes into a structured PRD and aligned with the founder before proceeding.
  • Initiated the design phase based on the approved PRD.
  • Collected feedback from the internal team and iterated until the design reached sign-off.
  • Conducted occasional user interviews to validate design decisions and surface further refinements.

Deliverable

  • Chrome Extension Design — Designed the full UI/UX of the Chrome extension, from user flows to final screens.
  • Visual Assets — Created a brand mascot, achievement badges, and polished UI mockups to support the product's visual identity.
  • Landing Page — Designed a marketing landing page to communicate the product's value proposition to prospective users.
  • Product Requirements Document (PRD) — Synthesized insights from multiple stakeholder discussions into a structured PRD, serving as the single source of truth for the design and development process.
