Project Overview

Refresh Me was designed to make beauty and grooming services easier to discover and book.

Customers can find nearby professionals, explore their services and availability, choose whether to visit the provider or request a service at their location, and complete the booking directly in the app.

On the other side, service providers can manage their services, incoming appointments, schedules, and customer communication.

My Role

I designed the end-to-end mobile experience for both customers and service providers.

My work covered user flows, information architecture, interaction design, reusable UI components, and high-fidelity interface design.

The scope included discovery, search and filtering, provider profiles, booking, location selection, payment, appointment management, messaging, and the provider dashboard.

Challenge

The main challenge was designing one marketplace for two different user needs.

Customers needed a simple way to discover trusted professionals and confidently book a service.

Service providers needed tools to manage requests, services, schedules, and customer information without making their daily workflow complicated.

The booking experience also needed to connect several decisions—who, what, when, where, and how much—without overwhelming the customer.

Solution

Helping customers discover the right service

The customer journey starts with discovery rather than booking.

Customers can browse nearby professionals, search and filter results, and explore provider profiles containing services, availability, working hours, location, photos, ratings, and reviews.

This gives customers enough information to make a confident decision before starting a booking.

Making booking easier to understand

I broke the booking experience into smaller steps so customers only need to focus on one decision at a time.

Choose date & time → Select services → Choose location → Review → Pay → Confirmation

The experience also supports both traditional appointments at the provider's location and on-demand services delivered to the customer's address.

Designing the provider side

Every customer booking creates a workflow for the service provider.

I designed a dedicated provider experience where professionals can review incoming requests, accept or decline appointments, manage their upcoming schedule, update their services, and communicate with customers.

Request → Review → Confirm → Manage

Reflection

Refresh Me gave me the opportunity to design a complete two-sided marketplace rather than a single customer-facing booking flow.

Looking back, there are areas I would simplify further, particularly the provider onboarding and some account-management flows.

However, the core challenge remains relevant: connecting discovery, availability, location, booking, payment, and provider operations into one experience without making the product feel complicated.
